It's about people like you who are willing to give of your Time, your Talent and your Treasure to bring joy to the hearts of the hurting and needy. Help us provide for the physical and spiritual needs of the homeless, men, women, and children of Dallas, Texas and the surrounding area. We need assistance with:
We need help with the following Committees ("Twelve Tribes Of Jesus"):
- Children: Help pack toys, set up Friday before the event, Help man areas such as bounce houses, gifts, art, family pictures, ponies/petting zoo, etc. After the event: Help box and clean up.
- Homeless: GIFT DRIVES – organize drives around the city, pick up gifts and deliver it to World Vision, help with the packing of gifts, connect with stores/ organizations for donations of shoes, coats, toys, personal care products,
- Evangelism: Share with the homeless the only Hope we have who is also the greatest Gift of all – Jesus! PRAY for them individually before and during the event. To connect our homeless and needy friends to churches around who would continue to disciple them to become a productive member of our community. Would love to have more Hispanic members, a great need!!!
- Prayer: Will develop a prayer calendar for Operation Care.Where all the committees could connect for prayer requests, will do prayer walk at the Convention Center a day before the event…Prayer is where the Power is!
- Medical / Dental / Vision / Foot Washing: Connect with different medical facilities esp. hospitals, Will provide vision, dental and medical assessment and for heavier cases refer them to hospitals for further treatment. An act of servitude will be demonstrated at the Foot washing area where the homeless will be treated like royalty!
- Partners (Shelter, churches, organizations): Would connect with churches, shelters and organizations and ask them to partner with Operation Care. Organizations, shelters and churches that would be able to provide services to the homeless will be provided with their own tables.
- Media / Public Relations: In charge of all the promotion re: Operation Care: web, radios, TVs, newspapers, inserts, brochures, etc.
- Entertainment: Provide a worshipful atmosphere where God is magnified by having some selected musicians and groups that would provide music and entertainment. Will connect with churches and other Christian groups who could share their talents.
- Inside Ministries:
a. Hair Cut - Hairstylists and Barbers to provide our homeless friends with a new outlook.
b. Makeover - Provide a make over area to our homeless friends with haircuts, make up and manicures to aid in their physical well being.
c. Family Counseling - provide professional assistance to meet the mental, emotional, psychological and legal needs to our guests. Assessment will be made and direct them to the local and available resources in the community for further counseling. Contact other Christian Counseling agencies to be a part of this service.
d. Food - Obtain permits/licenses in order to serve food at the day of the event, Conducts Food drives at their church/org. Collects the Food donated, Help serve and clean up at the Food area.
- Fund Raising: To help raise funds for Operation Care Dallas while providing an opportunity for positive interaction with the Dallas Community.
- Facility (Convention Center, Security, Transportation - Buses): Coordinate with all the committees re: floor plan, set up on Friday, needs of tables, chairs, stage, decorations all done a day before the event, and ensure that there are permits for the Convention and Food area. Coordinate with Bus captains re: Bus routes and enough security at the Convention Area and around the Food Court.
- Volunteers: Sign in all volunteers, input in the computer information of all volunteers at the web data base, Connect volunteers to different committees
