Thank you so much for a job well done during Christmas Gift 2009 at the Dallas Convention Center last December 19th.
Because you care, our friends experienced God’s love in action! Truly Jesus’ birthday celebration was a success. We were able also to give a special recognition to our homeless veterans who were given special honor through the Veterans Administration’s partnership with Operation Care. Five branches of the military were represented (Army, Marines, Air Force, Navy, and Coast Guard) and the presence of the Paralyzed Vets was an added bonus to the celebration. We appreciate each one!

Christmas Gift 2009
"Operation Coming Home"
(with a special place of honor for Homeless Veterans)
‘Tis the season’ for sharing the spirit of Christmas – Operation Care-Dallas hosted the nation’s largest Christmas party for the homeless at the Dallas Convention Center on Saturday, December 19th. This year, more than 11,000 homeless from shelters across the metroplex and indigent kids and their famillies attended, some lining up outside the Dallas Convention Center at dawn. At the event, 3,000 volunteers served in various roles.
Our special guests, including for the first time our homeless veterans, received blankets, sleeping bags, coats and shoes, personal care items, a hot meal, gifts, makeovers, haircuts, entertainment and more. Invaluable resources such as job counseling, housing, medical and legal assistance were also available.

Fox 4 News Reporting From The Event
Hope and comfort, particularly at this time of year, are priceless. We were all blessed to be a part of something larger than ourselves. The monetary costs must still be paid, however, and anything you can contribute to help offset the costs of this life changing event will be appreciated.
Can you help? Every year, many people have a big Christmas party at their homes, at their friends' homes, or elsewhere, but the homeless have none.
Since 2004, Operation Care Dallas has given the homeless people the biggest Christmas party at the Dallas Convention Center. Those who live under the bridge, those who have no home, feel like no one cares. WE CARE and we know that you care, too.
